So my boyfriend and I have been together for about 5 1/2 years, we met while I was studying in Mexico, and when I moved back to the US we stayed together. Since then, we see each other during any vacation time we have, spring break, summer, and christmas break.
since we?re both older now, we need jobs. i have been working with my mom in her clinic and since it?s a family business, i can go on vacation or leave whenever i want to go see him. but, he doesn?t have that luxury, and has found meaningless jobs that dont pay very much and in order for us to see each other, he?s been having to quit a job every 3 months in order to have alone time with me. This has messed up his job curriculum, this might not matter in the future because he?s going to start school and study graphic design, and we?re planning on him moving here and getting married (but like 5-6 years from now because im studying medicine and cant get married till after med school) but in the mean time, in order for him to find jobs it?s been hard because of the same reason, no one wants to hire someone who has always left a job after a couple months. . now he says he wants to start working and not quit, which i completely understand, but with our relationship, we don?t see how that?s possible because we wouldn?t be able to see each other.
i?m not gonna go to mexico (where i stay with grandparents) and be stuck in a house all day just so we can see each other for a couple of hours for the 1-2 weeks im there, tickets aren?t that cheap and my mom probably would make me go to a cousin?s house or something so im not alone doing nothing all day (even farther away from his house). worse part is, he doesnt have a car, and buses take forever. plus, mexico hasn?t been that save recently, which is why he?s been coming here to visit, but with him working, i guess that wont? be possible.
so we?re both really confused on what to do. we want to be together and see each other, but how?? in mexico you have to be working for at least 1 year before you can ask for time off, and even then they only give you 1 week. how are we supposed to see each other? i don?t think we can go a whole year without being with each other. and i dont think a job where they pay you 300$ a month is worth not seeing each other?what would you do? what do you suggest we do?? please no rude comments?thanks.
