Exclusive: "The Hangover Part II" star Jamie Chung is set to join Rob Lowe in the indie political drama "Knife Fight," while Julie Bowen, Connie Britton, Jennifer Morrison, Rebecca Mader and "Lost" thesp Titus Welliver are all in negotiations to join the cast. Lowe stars as a political crisis manager who specializes in playing hardball on behalf of scandal-plagued clients. Chung will play his assistant, who already has a savvy sense of how to spin a negative story. Bowen plays an ambitious TV reporter who sleeps with Lowe's character for scoops; Britton plays an earthy liberal looking to run for public office; Welliver plays a private investigator on Lowe's payroll; Mader plays a masseuse/prostitute bent on blackmail; and Morrison plays one of her classmates. Bill Guttentag is directing and co-writing the script with Chris Lehane. Daniel Davila and Catherine Davila are producing through their Divisadero Pictures banner along with deluca films principal Guerrino De Luca. Production is scheduled to start next month in San Francisco and producers are eyeing an October 2012 release date -- in time for the next presidential election. Chung, who plays Ed Helms' fiancee in "The Hangover Part II," recently starred in WB's "Sucker Punch" and next stars opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt in David Koepp's thriller "Premium Rush." Bowen currently co-stars in "Jumping the Broom" and will soon be seen in "Horrible Bosses." Britton was recently cast in Focus' "Seeking a Friend at the End of the World" and is also set to co-star in the indie comedy "The Hand Job." Welliver, best known for playing the Man in Black on ABC's "Lost," recently co-starred in Ben Affleck's "The Town" after working with the helmer on "Gone Baby Gone." Morrison will soon be seen playing Tom Hardy's wife in Gavin O'Connor's "Warrior," while Mader can currently be seen in Max Winkler's "Ceremony." Chung is repped by Gersh and 3 Arts Entertainment, Britton by WME and Untitled Entertainment, Morrison by UTA and John Carrabino Management and Mader by Innovative Artists and Mosaic. Paradigm reps Bowen and Welliver along with Liberman-Zerman Management and Leverage Management, respectively.
