TORONTO -- Lionsgate has promoted Akin Ceylan to COO of its home entertainment group.
The former MGM exec, who joined the mini-studio in 2005, was most recently chief supply chain officer and executive vp of operations for Lionsgate's $1 billion-plus revenue division.
Ceylan will oversee operations for the home entertainment group, which has been driven by DVD and digital releases of The Hunger Games and Twilight movie franchises.

The division has also been powered by Lionsgate's 2012 Summit acquisition and a combined feature film slate generating global theatrical box office revenue.
Ceylan also negotiated recent renewals for home entertainment distribution and replication agreements with Fox and Cinram.
"Akin has been a key contributor to our growth in recent years and, as COO of the home entertainment group, he will help guide the continued expansion of our business as we serve a broadening spectrum of traditional and digital platforms,” said Lionsgate home entertainment president Ron Schwartz.
